Proper maintenance is better with good material . At the Norwegian shipyard Ulstein Verft Norway the first of two support vessels that will be used for maintenance of wind farms was launched. This ship, a service operations vessel (SOV) , is chartered by Siemens and specifically deployed for turbine maintenance in the Gemini Wind Park. The vessel is designed so it can be used in a variety of weather conditions. On board there is room for more than 40 technicians who will set sail from Eemshaven in the summer of 2016. These technicians are mostly recruited in the north part of The Netherlands . Siemens has renamed the ship to ‘Windea La Cour’ and with the Siemens technology of Blue Drive Plus C it has a durable drive system.
